The brief
Global Citizen Week came to Cairo in 2024, part of the organisation's work bringing governments, businesses and activists together around global development commitments.
Advocacy events are built for two audiences: the people in the room and the much larger audience watching the content afterwards. The production had to serve both.
What the event demanded
Content arrives late and changes
Campaign messaging is updated up to the last minute. Video, slides and running order have to absorb changes without losing the show.
Speakers are not all presenters
Activists, officials and community voices share one stage. The setup has to make every speaker comfortable, whatever their experience.
Everything is filmed
Lighting and sound are set for camera as well as for the room, so the material can be used by the campaign afterwards.

Filming in Cairo needs preparation
Filming at events in Egypt can involve venue and permit requirements that visiting teams do not expect. Working with a local production team means those questions are raised early instead of on the day.
