The brief
COP 27 brought heads of state, negotiators, civil society and international press to Sharm el-Sheikh in November 2022. Alongside the negotiations, hundreds of side events ran on tight schedules for audiences moving between sessions.
Our brief was a side event that had to look right on camera, sound right in the room and run to time, delivered under the logistics of a city hosting a global summit.
What the event demanded
Access is granted, not scheduled
Inside a summit perimeter, equipment and crew move when accreditation and security allow. Everything has to be listed and cleared in advance.
Rooms turn over fast
Side event spaces are shared across the day. The setup has to install, run and clear without disturbing the sessions around it.
Everything is on the record
Climate sessions are quoted, filmed and shared. Clean audio and a usable recording matter as much as the live room.

Sharm during a summit
During COP the city ran on summit logistics: road closures, checkpoints and hotels at capacity. A local team that already knows the city, the venues and the accreditation process is what makes a side event possible on a summit timetable.
